Additional S3 Features - Tagging, Analytics, Inventory, Metrics, Events

S3 Analytics, S3 Inventory, and S3 CloudWatch metrics can be found under “Management” tab in the S3 Console. Tags and Cross Region Replication (CRR) can be found under advanced settings under Properties tab. As CRR is a very common use case, we will also have a lab for it. Lifecycle rules are discussed in detail here.

 

AWS CloudWatch Overview

Amazon CloudWatch is a monitoring service for AWS cloud resources and the applications you run on AWS. You can use CloudWatch to gain system-wide info on resource utilization, application performance, and operational health, collect and track metrics, collect and monitor log files, set alarms, and automatically react to changes in your AWS resources.

Amazon CloudWatch is a monitoring service for AWS cloud resources and the applications you run on AWS. Amazon CloudWatch Events delivers a near real-time stream of system events that describe changes in Amazon Web Services (AWS) resources. You can use Amazon CloudWatch Logs to monitor, store, and access your log files from EC2 instances, AWS CloudTrail, and other sources. The CloudWatch Alarms feature allows you to watch CloudWatch metrics and to receive notifications.
